Typical letters people abroad send to Denmark
Many Danish agreements still have to be ended or answered by letter, even after you move:
- Terminating a rental lease after moving abroad. See terminating a lease in Denmark.
- Ending a subscription or an insurance that cannot be cancelled online.
- A power of attorney (fuldmagt) for family or friends who handle something for you in Denmark.
- Letters to banks, pension companies and authorities that ask for an answer by post.
- Christmas cards and greetings to family.
Why it is hard from abroad
International post usually takes much longer than domestic post, and postage is paid in the country you send from. You cannot use Danish postage from abroad, and a Danish postage code from dao is for letters handed in inside Denmark.
What to do instead
Upload the document to Postly from your computer or phone, wherever you are. We print it in Denmark and hand it to dao, so it is delivered as a normal Danish letter. You pay by card or MobilePay and need no account.
Does the letter need a signature, like a power of attorney? Print and sign it, take a photo or scan it with your phone, and upload it as a PDF.
